Cicadas are sonorous insects in the Cicadidae family. There are over 3,200 species of cicada worldwide.
Their heads are broad and flattened. They have one pair of large eyes and three small eyes (ocelli). They have two short antennae. On the thorax are two pairs of transparent, membranous wings.
